Meet the Doctor

I thought Chiropractic was a scam (you know-once you go you always have to go type of thinking) until I felt the difference after being adjusted.

In my early 20’s, an automobile accident left me in a great deal of pain and discomfort.

It was almost 7 years later that a friend convinced me to see a Chiropractor for help. The relief I experienced changed my life. I was so amazed and impressed, I made arrangements to begin Chiropractic College the next trimester, resigned from my job, and moved to Davenport, Iowa. I had always known that I wanted to be in the healthcare field but knew that drugs and surgery were not my calling. I was thrilled to discover Chiropractic. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1999 with both my Bachelor of Science in General Sciences and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. During my educational process, I was selected to participate in an international ‘Clinic Abroad’ trip to Brazil and also qualified to work as an extern in an established chiropractic office for my last trimester of classes.

There is a saying, ‘you don’t choose Chiropractic, Chiropractic chooses you’. I knew as I walked the halls at Palmer during an orientation weekend, that this was the place I belonged. The classes were challenging but invaluable as I dove head first into subjects I had never even heard of before and by doing so, realized my inner strengths and determination. The clinical experience solidified everything we were learning and I still use this when treating patients today.

Chiropractic Philosophy

My philosophy regarding Chiropractic Care is that every body has a right to be healthy. Every body has the right to live with a nervous system that is working at the optimum without interruption. At BodyCare Chiropractic, Inc., our heatlhcare team believes in treating each person who enters our door with the highest respect, professionalism, and compassion, and to offer them the best quality care. We know that by removing the irritation on nerves (reducing subluxations) the entire body operates much better. Headache and migraine patients, low back sufferers, ‘normal aches and pains’ are just a few of the conditions we treat and the ages of our patients range from children to the ‘young at heart’ mature patients.

On a Personal Note…

Chiropractic is not something I think works. I know Chiropractic works.

I have been a chiropractic patient since I was in my late 20’s and wish I had known about it earlier. I am checked every four to six weeks to make sure my spine is in alignment and receive an adjustment if necessary. I also know the benefits of proper nutrition in the repair phase of care and the importance of high quality supplementation as well as massage therapy and neuro-muscular re-education when needed. An important point to remember is that healthcare works best when everyone does their part.
